Frequently asked questions

How do I find Stockholm parking zones?+
On Hittaparkering you compare parking in Stockholm on a map — price, walking distance and estimated availability are shown so you can decide before driving in.
What is estimated availability?+
Estimated availability is a model-based prediction using time, location, weather and historical pressure. It doesn't replace real-time data but helps you pick before you drive.
What's worth knowing about parking here?+
Taxa 3 is 20 SEK/hour on weekdays 07:00–19:00 and 15 SEK/hour on the day before Sundays and public holidays 11:00–17:00. Taxa 4 is 10 SEK/hour in those weekday and day-before-holiday windows. Taxa 5 is 5 SEK/hour on weekdays 07:00–19:00. Taxa 3–5 have no municipal visitor fee outside their stated paid periods, but signs, maximum stays, service days and temporary restrictions still apply. Official city schedule checked 20 August 2026.
Any practical tip?+
First identify the Taxa number on the sign, then match the day and time. “No municipal visitor fee” does not cancel a parking ban, resident restriction, maximum stay or service day.
Can I pay for parking with a foreign credit card in Stockholm?+
Card and app acceptance varies by facility and street zone in Stockholm. Check the on-site sign, meter or operator page before parking; Hittaparkering does not assume that a foreign card or a particular app is accepted unless the source says so.
How do I pay for street parking in Stockholm as a tourist?+
Use the payment method and zone code shown on the sign or meter. Accepted cards and apps can differ between zones, so the information displayed at the parking location is authoritative.
